The Digital Sales Specialist consults and sells digital strategies/solutions throughout Springfield Electric. This position has the responsibility to educate internal sales/branch teams to increase the knowledge and competencies of digital platforms. This position will be responsible to drive customer adoption of Springfield Electric digital platforms and solutions. Compensation package includes: company vehicle, phone, tablet, laptop, salaried pay, and total benefits package.


Essential Functions

Digital Platform Knowledge

  • Understand the functionality and continually evolve/maintain the knowledge of all digital support platforms/solutions including but not limited to, websites, apps, estimating software integrations, accounting quick books integrations, EDI, custom integration options.

Customer Development

  • Develop an understanding of the customer business systems, potential customer journey/unique processes, and align Springfield Electric digital solutions to their business systems.
  • Support customer use digital solutions to become more efficient in their day-to-day activities by understanding and articulating the potential ROI to the customer.
  • Use data and branch sales teams account knowledge to identify target accounts for potential digital adoption. Provide ongoing follow-up and feedback through the customer adoption journey.

Digital Development

  • Help support and continually evolve digital roadmap for website and other platforms by providing continual customer feedback for improvements.
  • Resolve digital product or service problems by clarifying customer feedback/complaints determining root cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution, expedite correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Serves as a backup to the Digital Operations Specialist.
  • Provide monthly updates and reporting on status of target account roadmap and adoption.

Digital Training

  • Responsible for internal sales/branch training in Springfield Electric digital platforms.
  • Training will include supporting documentation library, recorded or live web trainings, in-person one-on-one trainings, and other options with a goal to increase competencies for all internal associates.
  • The training should also include the onboarding of new associates based on position and in coordination with the branch supervisor or the Corporate Training department.
  • Backup support to the Digital Operations Specialist.

Other Responsibilities or Functions

  • This position will require regular travel to current and future branch and customer account locations.
  • Provide feedback and support to digital marketing solutions including customer opportunities and potential campaign suggestions by customer segment.
  • Work alongside the Marketing and Digital teams to continue to evolve content, solutions, and services that align with branch initiatives.


Necessary Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business related field, 2+ years in Marketing or customer-facing sales experience, 1+ year event management or training experience.

  • Proven track record in sales in a commission-based role.

  • Ability to demonstrate ownership of sales cycle from product ground to closing the sale.

  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as Wrike, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.

  • Creativity and ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable information.

  • Possess basic technical expertise to communication with marketing, digital, and development teams.

  • Ability to travel up to 85%.

  • Deep knowledge and training of web platforms and Eclipse functions/areas that support digital integrations/customer profile set-up.


Physical Ability Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, adding machine, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and step stool.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 75 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 75 lbs.
