TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Director of Cloud Operations working out of our office in Des Moines, IA.

DESCRIPTION

The Director of Cloud Operations is responsible for the vision, development, and execution of TMC’s multi-cloud digital transformational strategy. This position will lead a team of engineers, architects, and security professionals to drive and deliver transformational cloud-based technology and change.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and develop teams of cloud professionals (engineers, architects, etc.) under a culture of ownership driven by loyalty, integrity, and the commitment to quality.
• Provide technical leadership to cloud teams to enable delivery of quality cloud solutions.
• Define vision and roadmap for TMC’s cloud strategy and maturity model and be able to effectively communicate this across the organization as it aligns to business goals and objectives.
• Manage, monitor, and optimize all cloud environments to control costs.
• Design and deploy controls to ensure all cloud environments meet security control expectations.
• Consistently meet and exceed the demand of the business by achieving SLA’s and optimizing key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT leaders on best-practices and strategic initiatives.
• Continuous upskilling/reskilling through professional development and training opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with the ability to build successful teams by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
• Ability to engage, encourage and motivate team members.

Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives through cloud adoption and migration initiatives.

• Demonstrated competencies in cloud platform services including compute, networking,

storage, databases, security and operations. .

• Proven experience in modern cloud strategies specifically in design, planning, migration, implementation, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Monitoring and Automation.
• The ability to operate autonomously and inspire creativity in others to drive innovation.
• The ambition to learn and understand business concepts in Transportation and Logistics.

PREFERRED CONSIDERATION

• MBA or Master’s degree in a related field.
• 2+ Years of senior management experience.
• Associate, Expert, or Professional level Cloud Certifications, preferably AWS or Microsoft
• Progressive experience in a cloud technology practice
• Security related training and certification
• Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
• A working knowledge of Azure DevOps Services.
