Today, Piedmont Plastics is currently hiring for a Films Sales Specialist add to our Charlotte branch. The Films Specialist assists in the development and growth of new business within the plastic films market segment by utilizing extensive industry, application, and product knowledge. This position will also focus on key markets and ensure our branch sales teams grow the company’s knowledge, presence, and market position.
As an Films Specialist, you will:
- Support the branch sales team with information regarding film applications, pricing, and product availability by utilizing independent judgment and decision-making skills
- Make recommendations to branches about applications and pricing strategies
- Exercise authority to commit the company to sales quotes in an amount determined by the General Manager
- Independently manage certain accounts to ensure appropriate customer service and immediate attention to any needs or issues
- Prepare and documents quotations
- Follow-up with the branches on open quotes and leads
- Use sales techniques to create solutions for customer applications
- Accurately prepare sales orders, when necessary
- Expedite customer orders and performs all customer service duties
- Help reduce the amount of low-turning inventory items
- Record notes and customer information in customer relationship management (CRM) tool, which includes:
- Meet outcall expectations and keeps an update calendar in CRM
- Partner with and supports the branch outside sales teams to procure new business and service existing customers
- Actively participate in training classes to become knowledgeable in all pertinent applications, products, and sales skills
- Actively work towards achieving agreed upon goals regarding sales, margins, and active customers.
- Build strong relationships with supplier partners and sources material from the branch sales teams
- Build strong relationships with branch teams to promote a team environment
An ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 2 years of sales experience with a significant track record of obtaining and exceeding sales goals
- A two or four-year college or university degree (preferred not required)
- A combination of comparable education and sales experience
- Inside sales experience in plastic, industrial or distribution sales preferred, but not required
- Strong math skills
- Outstanding customer focus
- A positive attitude and are a team player
