JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Clinical Operations, the Clinical Float MA/LNA performs various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. (S)he will work directly with Clinicians, Nurses, and other Medical Assistants to ensure the daily activities of the clinics are completed. (S)he will work closely with the Clinical and Quality Department staff to help provide efficient department operations and to help enhance the quality of patient-centered care. (S)he is an integral member of the healthcare team to help improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist other Medical Assistants as necessary, both clinically and administratively
  • Involves working at all locations- Franklin and Laconia, with the probability of site expansion
  • Needs to have flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including late nights up to 7p
  • Requires working with all the medical Clinicians employed at HealthFirst
  • Help problem solve and exercise critical thinking skills to ensure the daily operations of the clinic are completed
  • Serves as a fill-in for Medical Assistants in the event of vacation and callouts, including the MAT Programs
  • Review Certified Medical Assistant job description for responsibility details
  • Assist MAs with desktops, EKGs, phlebotomy, labs, rooming, patient flow, and other daily roles and responsibilities
  • Learn the Prescription Protocol and how to manage prescription lines for both offices
  • Learn how to initiate, process, and complete prior authorizations
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Clinical Operations and members of the quality care team, review lists of patients with identified care opportunities from insurance carriers and contact patients to schedule services due to help increase incentive payments
  • Includes Medicaid Managed Care companies (NHHF, WellSense, AmeriHealth) and commercial insurance carriers (Anthem, Harvard Pilgrim, Martin’s Point, etc)
  • Review quality reports monthly and schedule appointments for patients with services due
  • Prints ‘clinical services due’ letters for patients and mails letters to patients
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Clinical Operations and members of the Quality Dept, review, implement, and renew PCMH initiatives and procedures
  • Assist Nursing with various clinical and lab projects and inventory
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect patient confidentiality
  • Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration with providers and other members of the care team
  • Participate in educational conferences and trainings to further job knowledge and experience
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be a Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or LNA program.

Certified or Registered through the AAMA or AMT or current LNA license. Current BCLS certification. One year of previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care setting is strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a healthcare practice or hospital
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
  • High level of professionalism and organization
  • Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette
  • Inventory management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Medical terminology
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections
  • Reliable and accurate documentation skills
