Job Description

The Virginia Tech Innovation Campus Human Resources Assistant is a part-time (20 to 30 hours per week) position that will provide on-site and off-site support for Human Resources. This position will assist HR with entering personnel updates into Banner, entering and updating position descriptions and recruitment updates into PageUp, running Banner and PageUp reports as needed, and supporting departmental search committees and interview logistics, including the coordination of itineraries, reservations, and travel. This position will also update internal tracking, assist with onboarding, as needed, and follow university policy and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Experience with administrative support duties in a multifaceted fast-paced office environment performing tasks such as: calendaring, preparing documents, and scheduling.

Ability to read, interpret and apply established policies and procedures HR processes.

Demonstrated strong customer service skills.

Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with team members and independently on assigned tasks.

Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook

Dependable, organized, detailed-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing support in a higher education, governmental or non-profit context.

Knowledge and experience of Virginia Tech policies and procedures.
