Location: Denton
Shift: Day shift 7am-7pm / Night Shift 7p-7a
Pay Rate: $17.31 - $27.33
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Run production equipment to produce high-quality electrical copper wire.
- Learn the different aspects of our production processes, such as: drawing, bunching, and extrusion.
- Utilize computer controls to operate production equipment.
- Run production equipment to prescribed speed to achieve daily production goals efficiently.
- Perform hourly quality checks to ensure product meets Southwire’s quality standards.
- Must learn and observe Southwire safety rules, maintain good housekeeping, and perform all other duties assigned.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read, write, and interpret production orders.
- Math encountered additions, multiplication, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to obtain a forklift certification is a plus.
- Operator must be able to follow instructions and work well with others.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Operator is constantly exposed to high level of noise and various types of lubricants and coolants, and hot/cold environments normally found in a warehouse-type environment without climate control.
- Physical activity associated with the daily performance of this job include: Continuous standing and walking, fingering, grasping; frequent kneeling, lifting, stooping, pulling and pushing; occasional balancing and climbing. Some effort is required in stringing up machines. Maximum physical effort is encountered in changing payoff and take-up packages.
