POSITION SUMMARY

Medical Imaging Specialist III - CAT Scan

Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

Provides health care services applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs computed tomography and related procedures sectional anatomic images for interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential to successful completion of the procedure. Provides services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology Program and a member in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Experience:

Demonstrates documented competence specific to the CT position.

Licensure:

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT) or registry eligible for (ARRT) (CT). CT Registry eligible must complete registry within six months of hire or transfer.
