Job description
A pharmacy resident is one who is employed to learn more about the operations of a hospital pharmacy department, as well as how the pharmacist is an active and valued member of the patient care team. Learnings are gained through the completion of various rotations, each of which will incorporate numerous projects. Thus the resident gains experience and exposure to the workings of a hospital pharmacy department while the hospital benefits from the completed projects. Additionally, the resident is expected to work several shifts as a pharmacist each pay period. This allows them to gain/maintain their pharmacist skills while also gaining valuable insight to the actual processes and the association of the pharmacy services to patient care and the operations of other departments. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
