Job Duties

The Center for Materials Research of Norfolk State University encourages applications of candidates to the position of Postdoctoral Scholar/Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate for this position will work on spectroscopic analysis and application of photonic lanthanide nanoparticles.

Duties will include analysis of the conversion mechanism and the emission of hybridized lanthanide nanoparticles for the future application on the surface of solar cells to increase photonic energy conversion. In close collaboration with faculty, the Postdoctoral Scholar will develop efficient UC meta-materials for applications utilizing Ln3+ materials on the surface of inorganic solar cell devices and various meta-materials to study energy transfer mechanisms and improve power conversion efficiency under solar irradiation.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Candidate must possess a recently earned PhD degree in Materials Science &Engineering,
Chemistry or Physics.
2. Demonstrated records of peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
3. Skilled in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, mixed inorganic and metamaterials.
