Job Description:

Job Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program
• MN RN license required prior to starting
• BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required by completion of orientation

Physical Demands

• Medium work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Work Schedule:

• Various shifts and FTEs available
• Most commonly available for new grads: straight night shifts or a day/night rotation, 0.8 FTE, 8-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Straight evening or day/evening, 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend are possible depending on openings
• The work schedule details are determined during the job offer and are dependent on what positions are available at that time
• You would interview and be considered for all work schedule availabilities

Pay

• Pay for RNs in the hospital follows the union step scale which factors in degree and length of service. As an example, the current base rate at our metro hospitals for a bachelors prepared new grad nurse as of 6/1/23 is $41.08/hour.
• Specifics around pay including shift differentials etc. would be discussed at the time of job offer.

Unit Availabilities:

• There are a wide variety of patient care units within the 12 hospital campuses of the Allina Health system that hire new grad RNs, such as: medical surgical, cardiac telemetry, vascular, oncology, neuroscience, orthopedics, spine, inpatient physical rehabilitation, short stay observation, mental health, ICU stepdown/progressive care units and float pool
• Our intensive care units, emergency department and mother baby areas also hire new graduates with experience in those respective areas depending on position availability
• Our hospitals primarily serve the adult patient populations so we do not have Neonatal, Pediatrics or Special Care Nursery units within the Allina hospital system
