JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing outstanding and safe on-water experiences by creating a balanced presentation of nature, culture, and history education and paddling technique.

Embody and motivate every team member to fulfill Outside’s mission “To enrich lives by connecting people to exceptional places, products, and experiences.”

• Provide superior kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding experiences to every Outside Brands guest, connecting our guests to the history, culture, and nature of the local area as well as to the sport.
• Stay up-to-date with local history, nature, and wildlife topics.
• Operate all equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation, conforming to all company guidelines.
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR credentials.
• Maintain current SCDNR fishing license, if applicable.
• Maintain and clean all equipment, including fishing tackle, to the highest standard, noting exceptions to the Resort Operations & Equipment Manager.
• Complete all trip paperwork per company policy.
• Maintain current stock of guide gear, including all safety equipment and first aid supplies.
• Be prepared for a trip at any time when scheduled as GOC, keeping clean uniform and safety equipment on hand.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes early to prepare for trips.
• Communicate any operational incidents to the Director of Program Operations.
• Operate from any Outside Brands location as scheduled (Hilton Head, SC; Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, SC; Savannah, GA).
• Follow direction of any location-specific manager.
• Attend periodic guide and all-staff meetings.
• Support an environment of learning and trust by acting as a positive role model.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
