Private Client Services at Daszkal is a boutique practice within our firm. We offer a high touch approach, along with extensive experience serving high net-worth individuals, their families, and other people with complicated tax and financial structures. Actively listening to our clients, allows us to help them reach their unique goals, creating a strategic plan tailored to each person or family's specific needs and objectives.
Our Private Client Services Practice is proficient in all facets of estate, income, gift, and trust tax consulting and compliance; charitable giving and philanthropic foundations; and cash-flow, retirement, and life insurance preparation. Our professionals are objective and adaptable to ensure our client needs are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Requests and reviews information submitted by client for completeness; meets with and/or communicates with clients regarding any questions or missing documentation
- Possesses sufficient knowledge of tax regulations in order to answer clients questions
- Prepares personal tax returns of various complexities
- Prepares trust, partnership and S Corp tax returns not requiring advanced expertise
- Prepares amended tax returns not requiring advanced expertise
- Prepares personal tax projections through the utilization of computer software
- Responds to tax notices of any sort and does initial drafts of any related correspondence required
- Performs tax research projects requiring minimal expertise
- Works on client matters while maintaining confidentiality
- Possesses the technical knowledge sufficient to train and supervise entry-level associates
- Establishes proficiency at tax research, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the Firm
- Maintains accountability for the effect of his/her work and time management on the profitability of each engagement assigned
- Acquires the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty
MAJOR TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are some major tasks associated with the above Essential Job Functions:
- Assumes responsibility for completing engagements assigned
- Completes engagement workpapers and updates engagement manager of any problems or concerns
- Evaluates the performance of associates under his/her supervision, as indicated
- Develops new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the Firm
- Maintains and enhances client service, ensuring quality, efficiency, identification and delivery of value-added services, and provides overall excellent client relations
- Provides timely training, coaching and performance feedback to appropriate parties
- Helps entry-level associates gain the technical competence to achieve high realizations and meet their chargeable hour budgets
- Achieves efficiency as measured by actual hours vs. budgeted hours per engagement
- Prepares other reports and projects as requested from time to time by managers/partners
- Assists in the orientation process for new entry-level associates and interns, providing leadership to assist them in becoming acclimated to the Firms culture and practices
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned
- 2-3 years of previous experience in progressively challenging, relevant positions
- CPA designation preferred
- Advanced degree in accounting or related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Experience training/working with entry-level new hires
