General Summary of Purpose:

As our Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for, under the direct supervision of the Director of Internal Audit & Risk Management, assisting Oriental Trading Company, Inc. in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization's internal controls and business processes.

Essential Functions:

• Conducts audits to determine the operating effectiveness of key internal controls and makes recommendations for process improvements to remediate control deficiencies identified
• Documents audit workpapers thoroughly to clearly indicate the work performed and to support the findings and recommendations in the audit report
• Prepares clear and concise audit reports that describe the audit purpose, scope, testing approach, findings and recommendations
• Monitors, updates, and reports the status of previously identified audit findings to ensure remediation plans committed to by management are moving forward as planned
• Utilizes process improvement knowledge and experience to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of company processes both during audits and as a key contributor during process improvement projects
• Responds in a timely and professional manner to management requests for assistance
• Works with the Director of Internal Audit & Risk Management to develop and enhance the Internal Audit methodology based on professional standards from the Institute of Internal Auditors
• Helps the Director of Internal Audit & Risk Management maintain a risk-based audit universe and develop the annual audit plan
• Assists with Berkshire Hathaway internal audits to ensure timely completion, accurate and fair assessment of OTC’s control environment, and accountability for remediation plans
• Develops productive and professional working relationships with company management and their subordinates

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent experience
• CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
• Experience with process improvement projects and methodologies preferred
• Requires 4 to 6 years of audit experience

Other Qualifications:

• Technical understanding and working knowledge of Internal Auditing
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to be concise, clear and professional
• Will be expected to lead meetings in a professional manner, communicate details underlying findings and recommendations
• Exceptional attention to detail and a work ethic based upon a strong desire to exceed expectations. Opportunities for improvement usually are not obvious; accordingly, in this role you need to have a disposition to dig into details
• Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate business processes from several angles, including from the perspective of business process leaders, customers, and supporting internal stakeholders

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio. Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, Oracle Cloud ERP and key internally developed applications
