Atlas Technical (formally BCM Engineers) is actively seeking a highly motivated experienced Senior Project Engineer for employment in its Plymouth Meeting, PA office. The Senior Project Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute work on wastewater and water utilities including treatment plant, pumping station, and bio-system facility planning and design
  • Design of pumping and hydraulics for liquids, slurries, and viscous fluids
  • Design of open channel flow hydraulics
  • Equipment system controls – P&ID’s
  • Piping design and expertise
  • Water industry biological and disinfection systems
  • Perform technical research, and be able to communicate and apply this knowledge.
  • Participate and/or Lead project team in planning and/or designing a major engineering projects and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies.
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas related to efficient design management for treatment plant, pumping station, and bio-system facility planning and design. Make decisions and solve problems.
  • Direct the work of drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines
  • Coordinate with and oversee the work of entry level technical staff and engineers
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and designers.
  • Provide input to project budgets for proposal work
  • Abide by Atlas’ health and safety policies and procedures.

Minimum qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Civil/Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • 10 plus years’ experience in design of water distribution and treatment systems; wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
  • Project management experience desired, but not required
  • Should have demonstrated experience leading the analysis and design of water/wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidiscipline project design teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents
  • Valid driver’s license.

Schedule:
