Hodges University is a private, not-for-profit, regionally accredited university located in southwest Florida and primarily serves working adult students. The Fort Myers Campus boasts a newly renovated state-of-the-art Health Sciences facility that includes smart classrooms, and nursing skills and simulation labs, with diverse high-fidelity mannequins and equipment; two spacious and well-equipped Physical Therapist Assistant labs; an EMT/EMS lab, complete with functional ambulance; and, coming very soon, a brand-new BS in Dental Hygiene program with a 20-operatory clinic open to the public. Hodges University is regionally accredited by SACSCOC and approved as a Level III institution offering associate, baccalaureate, and master's degrees. The healthcare programs are each also accredited by their respective programmatic accrediting agencies. Most programs at Hodges University admit students each month, and many courses are designed to take only 1 month to complete, so that a busy adult student can focus on one course - one topic - at a time.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Student Accounts Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the efficient processes of accounts receivable functions related to customer service operations. The individual will process all accounts receivables in a timely manner and assist in maintaining a system of policies and procedures that will, at minimum, satisfy the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The individual could be required to work on both University campuses throughout the week.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- To promote the mission and support institutional objectives of Hodges University.
- To adhere to all FERPA requirements to include maintenance of all department documents, discussions and records.
- To provide the highest level of professionalism and customer service to all constituents.
- To adhere to all policies and procedures implemented by the Student Financial Services department and Hodges University.
- To enter all tuition, miscellaneous fees, and non-AR payments in the Student Information System for students, third-party agencies and any other University clients.
- To assist with 1098-T form tax information processing and handling.
- To assist with collection efforts of accounts receivables from students, employees and other third-party agencies.
- To assist with student refund processing in a timely manner.
- To ensure all documents are properly completed and signatures are applied to forms such as application materials, payment plans, and affidavit of support documentation.
- To assist the Assistant Director of Student Accounts & Veterans Services with student account reconciliation.
- To assist in required data entry to maintain an adequate and accurate general ledger.
- To assist in completion of annual financial audits, internally and externally.
- To maintain a secure environment for all confidential information regarding any financial and student matters.
- To monitor, maintain and complete all processes in the ImageNow workflow such as applications, control reports, payment plans, etc.
- To assist in maintenance of an appropriate accounts receivable records system.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Accounts & Veterans Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual must possess a minimum of three (3) years previous clerical experience, preferably working with accounts receivables. An associate’s degree is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but may be substituted for significant work experience regarding accounts receivable operations in a higher education setting. It is preferred that the individual is bi-lingual. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills; exceptional written and oral communication skills; technical skills; analytical skills; and organizational skills.
