FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Location: Combination of remote and office based

Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to recruit and retain highly skilled, value-aligned volunteers and to organize and coordinate the grantmaking process to execute WomenVenture’s mission and vision. The primary objective of the volunteer responsibilities for this position is to be the knowledge center for WV volunteer needs and create a viable network of volunteers and volunteer opportunities and serve as WV’s volunteer ombudsman to ensure optimum response for assistance, as well as champion new avenues for community outreach. This role will organize, coordinate, and manage the recruitment of volunteers and develop a network of volunteers available to meet WV’s volunteer needs. The key responsibilities for the grants responsibilities in this role are to organize and coordinate the grantmaking process through research, collaboration, and evaluation.
Core Duties:
Volunteer Responsibilities: 50%
- Provide direction, information, and resources for those seeking volunteer opportunities including but not limited to individuals, community groups, civic, social and local organizations, neighborhood associations and local businesses.
- Maintain statistical records and activity reports on volunteer participation.
- Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program.
- Respond to inquiries from members of the public regarding volunteering at WomenVenture.
- Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.
Grant Responsibilities: 50%
- Increase WomenVenture’s list of potential grant prospects through weekly grant research.
- Work with Grants Manager to determine which grant prospects require/desire volunteer giving and use this to facilitate volunteer programs.
- Utilize diverse prospecting tools: 990’s, list serves, RFP’s, Annual reports, Foundation Directory Online to grant prospects based on alignment with the Advancement Strategic plan and WomenVenture’s mission/vision.
- Discuss available sources of funding with Chief Advancement & Marketing Officer & Grants Manager through bi-monthly strategic check-ins.
- Compile necessary information for the grant application process through collaboration with Grants Manager, database research, and other factfinding actions and meetings.
- Draft and complete pro forma grant applications according to application requirements and at the direction of the Grants Manager.
- Work with Grants Manager to edit and improve organizational narrative.
- Ensure that these grants are submitted on time.
- Collaborate with key collaborators to complete all documents, forms, or reports required.
- Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are funded by grants.
- Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.
- Schedules and coordinates meetings with funders as directed by the Chief Advancement & Marketing Officer and Grants Manager.
- Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.
Required Skills & Experience:
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Extremely organized and meticulous with details
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Must exhibit a motivated, proactive work ethic
- Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects
- Must be a flexible team player who is collaborative and maintains a ‘no job is too small’ attitude
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- At least two years of experience in grant writing experience highly preferred, but not required
