We are a nonunion contractor, with a sizable fleet of heavy equipment, operating within a 60-mile radius of Louisville, KY with our shop located off I-65 in Shepherdsville. Summary: The Welder/Mechanics Helper will need to have reliable transportation to and from the shop. Daily Duties may include weld/fabricate metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and or repair heavy equipment, pressure washing equipment, and helping mechanics as needed. The ability to run a forklift or other types of equipment is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties using wire welding or SMAW (Stick Welding)
  • Pressure Washing Equipment
  • Grease equipment
  • Mechanics Helper
  • Ability to work safely
  • Be able to work Monday – Friday 8-10 hrs. a day
  • Good Driving History with Valid License
  • Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience in welding or fabricating
  • Previous experience working in a shop or with equipment preferred.
  • Ability to receive written and oral instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationship with office and field personnel.
  • Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
