Job description
We are searching for a Medical Assistant/Scribe to join our growing team at the Adult Health Clinic. Our Medical Assistant/Scribe will perform various office and clinical duties to keep our medical practice running effectively and efficiently. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with the physicians and staff to collect samples, explain common medical procedures to patients, assist in basic examinations, and maintain patient records by scribing for the physician.
Responsibilities:
- Report to clinical coordinator or practice administrator
- Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physicians
- Assist physicians in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
- Document and give instructions to patients as instructed by physician
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator
Education:
Medical Assistant Certification
Skills and Qualifications:
Medical terminology
Grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Knowledge of EHRs
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
Ability to administer injections
High level of professionalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
