RailPros provides comprehensive consulting services for the rail industry. We specialize in areas of RWIC/railroad flagging, project management, observation and inspection, real estate, rail design and engineering, training, and media production. As a leader in our industry, RailPros’ projects create long-term value for our clients from concept through operation by providing technical excellence and outstanding services. We are seeking a Collections Manager to join our growing team.


Our Collections Manager will implement continuous improvements of the collection’s functions, while also leading and directing the accounts receivable team.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintains and improves efforts to reduce DSO within company established goals.
  • Ability to manage a team of employees to ensure the processes for the collections department are being followed.
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports daily.
  • Coordinate with Billing and Operations in order to properly communicate with the customer.
  • Manage weekly collections meetings with team members.
  • Processes approved credit memos in the accounting system.
  • Track and Monitor approved bad debt write-offs or negotiated settlements.
  • Follows up timely with clients on any escalated accounts and resolves any issues.
  • Provide weekly reporting of outstanding customers to Executive and Finance leadership team
  • Implement continuous improvements in the collection processes.
  • Ensuring that the company policy on collections is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
  • Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection.
  • Hire, train, and mentor staff members in the collections department.
  • Work with the CFO and/or Controller on any special projects.


  • College course work preferred
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Self-motivated with the ability to engage and encourage team members
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Previous collections experience required
