Dispatcher job description
A dispatcher must be able to make decisions and act on them with limited time and information in situations where there is an element of urgency. Must be able to deal with people in a variety of emotional states, while remaining calm and professional. Rigorous entry standards are absolutely necessary to ensure that dispatchers are able to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
Job requirements
- Knowledge of computer operations sufficient to enter, retrieve data
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
- Effectively prioritize situations and make decisions based on the information received
- Ability to hear and understand multiple sound sources (radio & phone)
- Able to handle multiple tasks to receive and communicate information to and from several sources ensuring calls for service are dispatched and monitored in a timely manner
- Work under stressful conditions and react appropriately using good judgment
- Willingness to maintain respectful working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, airline reps, and passengers
- Possess a clear and understandable radio and telephone voice
- Tech-savvy. Must be proficient in the use of modern technology (computers, devices, cell phone applications, etc.)
- A background check (obtain a custom seal) and pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be able to legally work in the U.S.A.

- Monitor and dispatch multiple personnel

- Accurately input Data Entry
- Maintain effective communication via phone, computer, radio
- Computer Literacy (excel, word, etc.)
- Able to multitask in a chaotic environment
- Able to be focused for long periods of time
- Able to write incident reports in detailed
- Complaint resolution
- Coordination of arrivals and departures
- Able to handle long periods of stress
- Able to enforce company policy
- Communicate details/issues concerning the operation
Payrate: $24.08/Hour
