Job description
The patient relations team member is responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to the appropriate staff, greeting and checking in all patients for office appointments, including scanning insurance cards, entering all demographic information into the electronic health record, entering referrals for office visits into EMR, scanning documents as needed, and working closely with physicians and staff.
Administrative Duties:

- Greets and directs all patients within the practice
- Obtaining patient demographic and verifying insurance information at each visit.
- Scanning pertinent information into EHR , including authorizations and insurance cards
- Obtaining patient authorization for medical record release (Hippa compliance)
- Schedules any necessary appointments after completion of visit.
- Monitor and review patient schedules for next day office visit
- Maintaining cleanliness of the waiting room.
- Answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate staff member.
- Assists other team members as may be needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
