Summary of Position:

The Permit Manager is responsible for supervising, coordinating and managing all operations and permit/plan activity assigned to the permitting group. Duties also include applying for permits with the respective municipalities, compiling, updating and maintaining reports for representing Core States Group and its clients with engaging with local permitting authorities. He/she provides information regarding compliance to plans and specifications submittals with associated regulatory authorities. He/she and works mostly independently. He/she supports Engineers, Architects and/or Construction professionals in performing key job elements. He/she demonstrates excellent organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills in all areas.

Essential Duties:

· Assign permitting activities to self and permit coordinators

· Monitor progression of permitting activities and reporting for permit coordinators based on progression towards established project milestones

· Obtain documents from engineers and architects to facilitate the permit application process

· Obtain all required approvals for permits and acts as liaison between the company and each municipality

· Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals

· Review plans for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy

· Prepare check requests and process invoice payment documentation in coordination with the accounting department

· Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessary

· Submit, distribute, and file paperwork and enter data for various permits such as building, design review, standard plan, plan changes, and amendment permits

· Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses and permits

· Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner

· Prepare and maintain production status reports

· Schedule, attend and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc., with architects, engineers, city officials.

· Monitor and create reports, correspondence and narratives utilizing spreadsheets and word documents

· Perform all other duties as assigned

· Handle all paperwork and file for permits for engineering, architecture and construction projects.

· Work with local governments/jurisdictions to submit and track construction drawings and permit applications packages.

· Visit local municipalities to obtain necessary documentation.

· Monitor each stage of the permit approval process.

· Provide status updates to clients and internal employees.

· Withdraw applications as needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing.

· Demonstrate a familiarity with local codes and ordinances.

Requirements:

· Experience: 5+ years of managing / supervising others

· Experience: 10+ years of project coordinating/permit expediting experience with an engineering, architecture or construction firm

· Education: BS or BA Required

· Licenses: None

· Travel: Local travel up to 75%

· Physical: Lift up to 10 lbs.

· Software: MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Deltek Vantage Point,

· Other: Must have your own vehicle (all mileage will be reimbursed)
