We are seeking to fill multiple Technical Product Manager (TPM) roles within our engineering organization. This role is inherently cross-functional and requires a strong ability to think big and influence others, working closely with various teams across engineering, product, and operations. We are looking for a critical thinker who thrives on resolving challenges through partnership with teams. You will work with teams across the organization to create standards for high performance and reliability. You will partner with V.P. of Engineering to drive new product initiatives from business requirements through delivery ensuring the resulting product capabilities satisfy the business and technology objectives. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity.

Candidates should have proven experience with Agile project management and software development lifecycles and should be a pro in sprint planning, conducting retrospectives, breaking specs to epics & user stories, developing release/product roadmaps. This role is a good fit for someone creative with strong customer focus and ‘product sense’, combined with an established track record of delivering subscription-based products to partners and customers.

Role & Responsibilities

• Serve as a critical liaison between the Product, Engineering, QA and Operations teams to deliver Salient’s CompleteView and Salient Cloud Services offerings.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop delivery roadmaps for functionality meeting initiative business criteria and quality objectives, build delivery plans, and help the team meet their commitments
• Develop and evangelize the vision for the tech platform. Build strong working relationships and alignment with peers in product, engineering, QA and operations.
• Author tech stories; own the backlog and keep the team fully engaged building the highest priority features and enhancements
• Facilitate demos showing value delivery to stakeholders, present products and features to large audiences that include both internal and external customers and partners
• Lead & participate in technical discussions as well as advocate for development and innovations with technical-commercial stakeholders on features and functionalities of our products; translate customer/project requirements to product features.
• Bring best practices to the team, and mentor and develop others to deliver at their best
• Present cross-channel feedback from customers and employees to management and executive teams

Required:

• 5+ years of technical program management experience
• 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
• Experience on large technical products as a technical PO / TPM
• Experience managing projects across several cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules
• Proven ability to understand core technologies utilized in the domain. Fluent in technical alternatives/pros and cons
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• Experience with end-to-end product delivery
• Experience contributing to technology and strategy decisions in both product and business dimensions. Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: Desktop Applications, Video Management, Surveillance Systems, Integrations, Cloud Systems, or Mobile & Web Development
• Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, ambiguous work environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive working independently, with Engineering teams, as well as collaboratively with other departments such as Sales and Marketing.
• Demonstrable experience in software release management, including planning and scheduling of software release windows
• Experience leading multiple high priority projects at a time and driving them forward with a sense of urgency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Video Surveillance / Video Recording., Video Monitoring
• Technical familiarity with service development, backend APIs, and AWS would be a big plus
• B.A or B.S in Computer Science or related technical field preferred
