Responsibilities:

Veterinary Technicians at Plant City Animal Hospital are responsible for:

• Patient Care
• Venipuncture
• IV catheter placement
• Obtaining radiographs
• Running in-house diagnostic testing
• IV fluid therapy
• Surgical assisting and post-operative care
• Client education and communication
• Safe, low-stress pet restraint
• Maintaining hospital cleanliness as part of a team.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for our Veterinary Technician role must:

• have a minimum of 1 year of veterinary technician experience; technicians with certification are preferred
• have the ability to adhere to the attendance policy
• have any allergies to animals controllable through medication
• be able to lift 40 pounds
• have visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions
• have the ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone
• have fine motor skills adequate for nursing skills such as phlebotomy and utilizing hospital equipment
