Data Engineer III (100% Remote)
Everi is currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer for our Digital group. Do you like wrangling data and designing massive data warehousing solutions to provide critical business analytics? If so, this is the opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance data warehousing solutions for efficient querying of large data sets.
- Design and maintain the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from assorted data sources into data warehouse solutions.
- Design and implement high-performance data warehousing solutions for efficient querying of large data sets.
- Design scalable solutions to consume and process message queues and store streaming data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams gathering business requirements, defining scope, creating project timelines, and owning project coordination through to resolution.
- Develop reporting solutions for warehouse stored data and other relational data stores.
- Customarily and regularly transform business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and creates complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- Actively work with team members to troubleshoot, repair, and tune databases in a timely manner.
- Analyze and define data flow requirements, creating documentation to support solutions.
- Assist and train business users in data discovery, designing data stores, and creating ad hoc reports and visualizations.
- Actively review Python and SQL code, ensuring solutions meet compliance and best practice standards.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role
- Advanced knowledge of relational database architectures through indexing and optimal schema design patterns.
- Proven experience creating ETL pipelines for processing and storing large data sets in a cloud-based environment such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience working with popular big data and streaming tools such as Redshift, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis, etc. preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases like SQL Server and Postgres. Experience with NoSQL solutions such as Cassandra or MongoDB also desirable. Must be willing to dive in, understand the nuances, and take ownership of ETLs from NoSQL databases into relational databases.
- Casino gaming experience is a plus.
- Experience working with streaming data is a plus.
