Role Summary

Director, Content Acquisitions, will maintain and drive Anuvu’s licensing relationships with studios and content partners within their respective regions. They will also be responsible for developing licensing strategies, securing new content and additional rights, and renewing existing deals. Management and leadership are key parts of the role and will require someone with a passion for people management.

The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating complex licensing agreements, developing new business models, and delivering results through a diverse team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In the U.S. it is Anuvu’s ambition to be a leading content distributor of Hollywood content in partnership with our trusted network of suppliers. This role is the critical component of that strategy and will lead the division to increase revenue and expand our library.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • A deep passion for content, seeking hidden gems and immerging trends
  • Working with other regional Content Acquisition Directors to develop the licensing strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, studios and content partners at the decision-making level
  • Negotiating license agreements with partners and expanding existing agreements as needed
  • Collaborating with the legal team to review contractual terms and conditions relating to content licensing agreements
  • Manage deal utilization and work with internal partners to ensure adherence across Media & Content
  • Performing content analysis to ensure our customers have a diverse selection of content available, regardless of region
  • Develop annual budget and quarterly forecast. Track actuals on a monthly basis to remediate or leverage any +/- variance.
  • Collaborating with marketing to drive customer and engagement growth.
  • Liaise with finance teams to ensure timely payment and improvement plans to become more efficient.
  • Manage the full partnership cycle: make introductory calls, assess business goals through qualification, work with stakeholders to onboard, and enable partners to reach a new audience or drive revenue growth.
  • Act as subject matter expert on solutions associated with the partnership, and articulate the customer, partner, and sales value propositions.
  • Lead the construction and closure of partnership agreements.
  • Own, track, and report on all metrics important to the partner relationship.
  • Inspect Partner engagements to ensure we are maximizing our revenue potential.
  • Recruit potential partners via research and real-world networking. Attending global events and festivals will be critical and travel is required. Events can include Cannes Film Festival, MIP, Sundance, Tribeca etc

  • Accountable for the departmental resource plan (people, finance and technology) and working with support departments to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure the team receives regular performance feedback, that managers understand their team's career goals and there are succession plans in place.
  • Create and communicate the departmental strategy and be accountable for delivering departmental outcomes that align with the business strategy.
  • Deliver continuous improvement efficiencies.
  • Coach and develop a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Provide general leadership support across your locations and the wider Media & Content team.
  • Ensure regular, relevant, and effective communication with key stakeholders, across the function, and throughout the department.

What We’re Looking For

  • Deep passion for content and an eye for what has global potential on airlines
  • Experience working in broadcast, media, or other related digital content acquisition roles
  • Substantial relevant business development or content acquisition experience
  • Track record of negotiating complex licensing agreements
  • International and multicultural team management experience
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Ability to develop ideas independently and take them through to commercialisation
  • Identify emerging trends and seek out new content

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $140,000- $150,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, skills, certifications…etc.
