Due to our growth and the volume of opportunities now in front of us, we are looking for someone to join our team as our Food Scientist.

Job Summary: As our Food Scientist, you will be responsible for food safety, new means of creating and improving products, and methods to supplement and maintain the national food supply. This is an opportunity to create and develop new nutritional Gummies and manage the existing confectionary catalog. Our overarching purpose within R&D is to ignite innovation and co-create to bring the future of INS to life today.

Location: We are headquartered in southwest Missouri, in Purdy, MO., with our main production facility in
Mt. Vernon, MO. In this role, you have the potential to work remotely work with travel requirements to headquarters. The work arrangement is dependent on a number of business factors and will be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create formulas and develop prototype and benchtop samples of custom fortified dietary supplement blends and functional nutrients.
• Develop strategic partnerships with external industry leaders and internal stakeholders to generate new and innovative opportunities.
• Determine the maturity or stability of raw ingredients; evaluates the safety, quality, and nutritional value of finished products.
• Interact with cross functional teams (including quality, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing) to resolve issues that may arise in the course of new product development or existing product improvement.
• Conduct sensory testing, texture analysis, and color analysis of different gummy supplements.
• Maintain proper documentation and create initial generation of finished product specification sheets, supplemental facts panels, and review of batch records.
• Oversee and direct the scaling up process, including manufacturing batch adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Track notes and record parameters for the product development process.
• Collects and researches data
• Work with both internal and external stakeholders to respond promptly to questions, requests for service and meeting commitments.
• Actively work on improving and promoting overall quality.
• Develop, coordinate, and manages projects while communicating any changes and progress with a specific timeline and budget.
• Collect and research complex, diverse data using experience to complement data and create necessary procedures.
• Comply with company procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures, and safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related area required; Master’s degree preferred.

Preferred:

• Experience working with Genesis software or similar software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
• At least three years of related experience highly preferred.
• Experience working within the natural food channel, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industry.
