Key job responsibilities
- Facilitates Company-sponsored clinical studies and investigator-initiated research.
- Keeps abreast of professional information and technology through conferences and/or medical literature and acts as a resource for the team.
- Ensures budgets, timelines, compliance requirements are factored into programs' medical and scientific activities.
- Establishes review standards and oversees a review committee process for the review and approval of both promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and regulatory guidance.
- Provides guidance to cross-functional team members to aid in the creation of promotional materials and non-promotional materials, including publications, scientific or technical literature, and training, education, and disease-state awareness materials.
- Runs a net new medical affairs and medical information team independently with little supervision.
- Leads the development of global opinion leader mapping (identification, profiling, segmentation) across pipeline areas and indications for use to facilitate scientific exchange and clinical research.
- Serves as the medical interface between Amazon and the scientific and healthcare professional communities, and develops and maintains relationships with medical advisors to assist with domain expertise as appropriate.
- Provides medical and/or scientific data and formation about Amazon products and research to healthcare professionals and decision makers.

- Advanced technical knowledge to interface at the appropriate level with all disciplines within our organization
- Broad understanding of the regulatory and healthcare environment
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory and statutory requirements
- Experience defining and building a medical and scientific strategy for new medical affairs activities, including: health-care professional/provider interactions; providing appropriate medical/scientific support for a market access program; generating clinical and scientific data (enhancing therapeutic benefit and value); and developing educational initiatives (medical education, data, guidelines and medical/scientific bases for value proposition)
- Ability to motivate others with empathy
- Track record of maintaining confidentiality to ensure appropriate information is shared in the appropriate fashion at the appropriate time
- Possesses highly developed industry acumen and deals well with ambiguity
- Able to communicate complex scientific/clinical issues in a concise and clear manner
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Ability to track and progress multiple workstreams in parallel
- Strong working relationships with global thought leaders, including key experts and opinion leaders, professional societies and other healthcare industries/organizations
- Experience launching new products or indications
