JOB TITLE: Lead Clinical Manager (CLM)

REPORTS TO: Divisional Director


JOB OVERVIEW: The Clinical Manager is a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) who is responsible for the development, management and evaluation of therapists in particular region (Houston - South Division) and/or discipline (Speech).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provides quality therapy services including professional evidence-based therapy, accurate and complete documentation, and coordination of care.
  • Maximum of 8-10 patient visits per week with visits scheduled around management meetings and duties/ therapist events
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and direct supervision of his/her direct reports
  • Number of direct reports will average 15
  • Responsible for onboarding, orienting, and training new direct reports
  • Meets company policy timelines for submission of personal documentation and holds direct reports responsible for same timelines
  • Responsible for approving and submitting all Evaluations and Re-Evaluations for direct reports.
  • Responsible for timely approval of PTO, for direct reports.
  • Interviews and provides hiring recommendations
  • Evaluates performance, works with therapist staff to develop a professional development plan as part of the performance reviews and implements verbal and written warnings, in conjunction with Human Resources Dept.
  • Shadow visits of direct reports as necessary.
  • Provide mentor visits as necessary for direct reports.
  • Assist and coordinate process with universities when division takes on students.
  • Acts as a clinical expert in his/her discipline.
  • Assists with data collection as required by corporate.
  • Coordinating and preparing continuing education for therapists as needed.
  • Partners with Human Resources to address all disciplinary action for Therapists
  • Reviews patient care documentation and submits to MD offices and provides education/guidance to therapists
  • Monitors and enforces the capacity, attendance and productivity goals of his/her therapy staff
  • Monitors and enforces the compliance goals set at mandatory training of staff
  • Assists and manages the process for coordinating and completing audits and other projects as directed by leadership
  • Provides guidance for monitoring individual therapy staff clinical needs and links therapist with the appropriate discipline specialist for mentoring
  • Acts as a liaison between senior leadership and field / support staff if Division Director is unavailable.
  • Provide regular updates to the Division Director regarding therapist related issues.
  • Assists Division Director with emergency preparedness activities.
  • Identifies and provide corrective actions regarding therapist documentation and practice as necessary.
  • Assists with strategic planning of the division.
  • Partners with Community Liaisons to attend Connection Meetings
  • Acts as a Super User for the EMR.
  • Assists with employee engagement activities
  • Generates operational reports as assigned.
  • Ensures appropriate supervision for Interns and Assistants according to state and national guidelines for direct reports
  • Responsible for divisional payroll process (within the electronic medical record and HRIS systems)
  • Partners with Community Relations Liaison and Office Management to strategically hire therapists taking into account divisional capacity, attendance and productivity of current staff
  • Performs all duties in compliance with agency policies and procedures. Adheres to all rules, regulations, code of ethics, guidelines and codes in federal, state and local laws which are concerned with the delivery of home-based therapy services.
  • Any other essential duties as required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in his/her discipline.
  • Currently licensed and approved to practice in his/her discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of home health experience.
  • Experience operating common point of care software.
  • 1-3 years of previous Health Care management preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a pediatric care setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, or similar.
  • Must be physically and legally able to operate a vehicle.
