Job description
Registered Nurse (RN), or six months of vaccine experience preferred.
Temporary position during flu season Sept- Nov; would like to keep as PRN following flu season
Supports RAIVEN, RECOVER, PROTECT, and other funded research projects. This position is patient-sensitive temporary contract (early September through end of November with willing to stay on as PRN and into next years flu season). We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy.
Flexible schedule to accommodate participants: M-S, evenings, weekends.
This position collects, and prepares specimens for the laboratory, and maintains accurate medical records of specimens at multiple draw sites.
This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at individual homes and local fire stations if they are healthy and without COVID-19 symptoms.
Six months vaccine experience; demonstrated computer skills; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Vaccine certification is required.

Essential Functions
This position will require travel from Ogden to Provo. As a patient-focused organization, the University of Utah Health Sciences exists to enhance the health and well-being of people through patient care, research, and education. This position travels to clinics, participant homes and/or workplaces, collects data, administers flu vaccines before flu season starts, collects and processes blood, and assists with other research related tasks as needed.
Enters and retrieves computer data.
May check client picture identification and obtain photographs and fingerprints.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
Knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
